Description Robert Ancell 2013-04-30 20:56:15 UTC
The g-ir-compiler man page says:

" ---shared-library=FILENAME
Specifies the shared library where the symbols in the typelib can be found. The name of the library should not contain the leading
lib prefix nor the ending shared library suffix."

However experimentation shows that the "lib" prefix is required and the .so suffix is optional.
