GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 699339
Undo action in Link operation should not create an additional contact
Last modified: 2018-01-24 15:06:45 UTC
Issue can be reproduced by linking 2 contacts (using the tick button) and press "Undo" at the final step then you'll see a empty contact appearing from nowhere. Will investigate it later unless someone plan to fix it before ... Regards
Has anyone been able to make any progress on this? It's 100% reproducable for me on 3.8.2 and later: 1) Create 2 contacts, "A" and "B" 2) Select link action, and link both contacts 3) Click "Undo" in the "2 contacts linked" dropdown message 4) Observe that the contacts list now contains "A", "B", and a mystery "" contact (empty contact with no details).
Created attachment 257419 [details] Debug log showing the application crashing while trying to link 2 contacts.
I launched gnome-contacts 3.10 r1 with "G_MESSAGE_DEBUG=all". I had 3 contacts and tried to link 2 but it failed and the application crashed. See the debug logs in the attachment (gnome-contacts.debug). I made multiple attempts to link 2 contacts and observed different behaviors : sometimes it works, sometimes it crashes the application. When it works and you try to undo it sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and sometimes it crashes the application.
