GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 699041
Color channels swapped in eog
Last modified: 2013-05-01 10:25:44 UTC
Since gnome 3.8, the color channels in eog, eye of gnome, are mixed up. E.g. this picture http://www.ruthe.de/cartoons/strip_1614.jpg, the sky is torqoise instead of blue, the gras is violet instead of green. Maybe the green and the red channels are swapped. Not every image is concerned and neither is every application or the entire screen. Actually, I've only seen broken JPGs so far. I don't know how to find out the common dependency which is the culprit, but it started using gnome 3.8 and is reproducible in eog, so I'm starting here - just move the bug into the correct section ;) Affected formats: JPG Affected applications: eog, firefox, thunderbird Applications working fine (examples): gimp, display
Created attachment 242660 [details] Screenshot This is a screenshot with display (left) and eog (right) and the image linked above.
Works correctly here. Can you check if it's probably related to a bogus autogenerated color profile? Open the "Color" tool in the System Settings and set the switch for your display to Off. alternatively call xprop -root -remove _ICC_PROFILE
Switching off the color profiles helped. Thanks!
