Steps to reproduce:

 * Open the overview, should have some windows available.
 * Type a letter to search, e.g. 'a', and *before* the search results appear, click on one of the available windows that were being shown.
 * Now open overview again: workspaces list in the right got lost.

The only way to recover the list of workspaces is to perform another search, e.g. type 'a' again, and remove the 'a' character from the entry box right away; workspaces will then re-appear.

This is gnome-shell 3.6.3.1 in F18.
