This issue was introduced in gnome 3.6, but I expected that hopefully it will be fixed in 3.8. It is not.

I have two keyboard layouts - English and Russian.
After I press Alt + Shift there is some delay until new layout is actually applied.

Steps are:

1. Switch layout from russian to english
2. Start typing immediately

Actual result of typing the word "gnome" will be - птome (two first letters in russian).
Expected Result - gnome.

This issue is horrible. I have to switch layouts ~100 times a day and constant fixing of the beginning of phrase is real pain.

For now my solution is using xkb.
