Description Elad Alfassa 2013-04-21 20:20:39 UTC
gnome-boxes detects FreeDOS as a live CD (it's not), so after I finish the partitioning part and it tries to reboot, boxes simply removes the box from the display and doesn't allow me to use it.

"live" just means that its temporary *unless* it installs something during the first boot.

Most (if not all) modern OS (which would be our main focus) install something during the first boot and not just partition. We'll need to revisit the way we handle "live" or whether or not we should treat all OSs other than which we support express installation for, as live.

Anyways, not something I'd want to touch in 3.8.

Right, I don't think we intend to change the way we handle live/unknown media but there is still hope: bug#700780.
