Same issue on a ASUS Netbook, 1024x600 resolution, Knoppix 7 / LXDE.
I can't scroll down the window, so I can't validate changes...

This isn't a fix but it should be a useful workaround. I often use it to move windows around both on my 1024x600 resolution netbook and on my huge multi-monitor main system. It should work on most desktop environments, altho some may override the standard X defaults and use other modifier keys or different methods.

Hold down the alt key (alt is the X default, I have it set to meta aka the windows key, here) and left-click-drag the window. It should move the entire window, allowing you to drag the bottom of the window (instead of the top) into view.

FWIW, using alt-right-click-drag should resize the window instead of moving it, with the edge/corner that is moved depending on where you click in the window. Of course that won't let you make the window smaller than its minimum size, the problem you're running into with pan prefs, but it's a helpful hint for other situations, particularly when it's hard to grab the edge of the window and drag it.

There is a fix for this in the Git repository:

https://git.gnome.org/browse/pan2/commit/?id=ee7e4add92459a6162c19e5a5770776d1b8fbff9

I hope this is a little improvement. Size is set to 800x600.

Please test.

Any other suggestions to set the size? Dependend from the screen resolution?

Thanks for taking the time to report this.

However, you are using a version that is too old and not supported anymore by Pan developers.

By upgrading to a newer version of Pan you could receive bug fixes and new functionality. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain a newer version of Pan.

Please feel free to reopen this bug report if the problem still occurs with a recent version of Pan or feel free to report this bug in the bug tracking system of your Linux distribution if your distribution still supports the version that you are using.
