in the scheam org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences, I have the preference 'action-double-click-titlebar' set to 'toggle_shade'.
Since 3.8 (I just upgraded to FC19) double-cliking the title-bar lets the shadow active, so you end-up with a black shape that still cover the area.
