Description Douglas Bagnall 2013-04-11 03:46:44 UTC
Like many Gstreamer users, I avail myself of all of all the gst-plugins-* packages. When it comes to constructing a pipeline, the most useful start page by far is http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/documentation/plugins.html. But there is no way to navigate there from any of the individual element pages, while the hierarchical navigation that exists is fundamentally uninteresting to pipeline creators (while it is nice to know when plugin is in -bad or -ugly, it doesn't matter what other plug-ins are there).

For that we'd need to hack the generated documentation.

We can easily add a link to
http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/data/doc/gstreamer/head/gst-plugins-ugly-plugins/html/index.html
which would point back to:
http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/documentation/plugins.html

Would that be enough?

That would be better than nothing, but I would prefer a link from the headers of plugin pages themselves.

Obsolete, now works.
