The required qemu version 1.3 was out on Jan 28, 2013 and there has been
stable 1.4 releases too since then.

Oh? So the required patches got merged in F18 but never got merged upstream?

I missed that, apparently there has been some work lately, but my VM with USB redir fail to restore from disk. I am using qemu-kvm-1.4.0-8.fc19.x86_64

Hmm, that should work fine. What error do you get (in the libvirt logs) ?
