Description Michael Knepher 2013-04-05 22:23:38 UTC
We have a custom cms site that uses http authentication to limit access. I have had no problems using this site up through epiphany 3.6. Am currently running epiphany 3.8 on Fedora 19 alpha. On a clean start-up of epiphany, when I enter the site url, the authentication dialog appears, with the username and password filled in from my gnome-keyring. On pressing enter, epiphany will load the html of the requested page, but will not load any external resources - images, css, etc. Attempts to navigate to any other page using hyperlinks or directly inputting the url results in the following error page:
---
Oops! It was not possible to show this website

The website at http://xxx.xxxxxx.xxx/ seems to be unavailable. The precise error was:

URL cannot be shown

It could be temporarily switched off or moved to a new address. Don't forget to check that your internet connection is working correctly.
---

The site works fine with any other browser.

Is it still a problem?

It's very unlikely this is an Epiphany bug, but rather a bug in libsoup or WebKitGTK+. HTTP auth works for most users, and I'm honestly unsure what debugging to ask you to provide. There were some HTTP auth issues fixed in libsoup recently, though; what version of libsoup are you using?
