On attaching my iPhone to a USB port, Ubuntu asks "You have just inserted a medium with digital photos. Choose what application to launch". If I select "Do Nothing" and "Always perform this action" checkboxes, Ubuntu opens the digital phone directory automatically everytime I connect it to a USB. It should not do anything as per the selected options.

That dialog doesn't exist anymore in Gnome 3.8.
It was moved from Nautilus to g-s-d for fallback mode in 3.0, as autorun is being handled directly in the shell these days, but it's gone for good now that fallback mode has been removed.
