Description Cosimo Cecchi 2013-03-14 14:16:22 UTC
When I open the lid of my laptop it resumes from suspend, but the backlight doesn't come up - I have to press a key first.
Comment 1 Matthias Clasen 2013-03-14 23:49:11 UTC
I'm sure this would reignite discussions around lid-close and suspend.
Better to fix it before 3.8
Comment 2 Bastien Nocera 2013-03-15 09:17:17 UTC
Xorg isn't resetting the IDLETIME despite receiving a fake key event. Bug is likely in gnome-idle-monitor, or in Xorg. Actually, it's likely in Xorg...
Comment 3 Matthias Clasen 2013-03-19 02:39:15 UTC
hmm, it works for me - is this hw specific ?
Comment 4 Matthias Clasen 2013-03-25 20:24:54 UTC
this needs retesting, with all the other suspend, dim and backlight fixes that went in recently.

Yes please. It would also be useful to know whether you see the desktop for a short period of time when opening the lid before it blanks. I saw this some time ago, and I suspect it was gnome-shell which didn't install a delay inhibitor (or there was a bug in that code).
Comment 6 Cosimo Cecchi 2013-03-27 22:29:56 UTC
Works fine with gnome-shell 3.8.0.1 and gnome-settings-daemon 3.8.0. I'm going to close this for now.
