GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 695742
Sanitize the session drop down
Last modified: 2013-05-19 19:25:18 UTC
The session chooser in the login screen doesn't look very good. Also, the animation when it expands is jerky and causes the other elements to move. I think we probably need to rethink the design of this one.
Created attachment 238753 [details] [review] simple theme patch This theme patch takes some of the rough edges off the session chooser. It might help until we come up with a better design.
Jimmac came up with different design here: http://jimmac.fedorapeople.org/gnome3/login-session-current.png but it was for the old style login dialog.
Review of attachment 238753 [details] [review]: This definitely looks better than it did before. But, I agree, we need something way better short-to-medium term. If you commit this you'll have to get a freeze break exception.
That old sunken-menu design really doesn't work well in the system grey world. I have yet to try Allan's solution but if I were to approach it, I'd make sure to keep it flat and just make sure to align to the menu width.
I went ahead and made the freeze break request: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/release-team/2013-March/msg00127.html
so, this fell through the cracks - can we pick it up for 3.9.2 and 3.8.3 ?
