automake 1.11.6 seems to install the ./ar-lib wrapper for lib.exe even
under linux and it should be ignored.

It would also be great if we could upgrade the linked submodules to their
latest versions, as they have the fixes needed to stop `git status' from
complaining about modified and ignored files (in particular after
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=695632 has been closed).
