GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 695266
When the Orca user using a structural navigation supported app and activate learning mode, 1 and 2 keystrokes doesn't presenting goto next heading level related command
Last modified: 2013-10-16 15:40:44 UTC
Dear Joanie, In Orca 3.7.90 version the list shortcuts function are redesigned. If the user activating learning mode and press 1 key, possible browsing orca's default shortcuts. If the user press 2 key, possible browsing app-specific Orca shortcuts, depending the user what application are launched. This key bindings have a problem when an Orca user launched an application with supports Orca structural navigation feature (for example Firefox, Epyphany web browsers). Before 3.7.90 Orca versions in basic learning mode feature the numbers between 1 and 6 keys presenting following style messages if a structural navigation supported application are launched: Goes to next heading at level %d. This is works in basic learning mode with between 3 and 6 numbers, but 1 and 2 keys activating the proper list shortcut dialog function the 3.7.90 version and latest master branch version. Reproducation steps: 1. Launch Firefox. 2. Press Orca modifier+h keystroke. 3. Press for example 3 key, you will be hear right the proper heading level related learning message. 4. Press 1 or 2 number once. Will be activating proper list shortcuts function, so Orca newer will be spokening basic learning mode the 1 and 2 heading level related learning message. If this is possible and your openion need, I think need bounding the list shortcuts functions in learning mode a different keystroke with not conflicting other apps and structural navigation supported apps. Unfortunately I haven't got yet a good keybinding ydea, perhaps need restoring the second Orca modifyer+h keystroke before Orca accepting 1 and 2 numbers? So, possible a good solution to learning mode accepting 1 and 2 numbers with list shortcut dialog functions after the user press two quickly Orca modifyer+h keystrokes. Attila
F2 and F3 are now used instead of 1 and 2. Committed to master only due to associated string changes. https://git.gnome.org/browse/orca/commit/?id=a5cde3cb2ea1627e6dcc39b381338561d2ea1e89
