GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 694979
Support moving workspaces with respect to each other
Last modified: 2013-03-02 13:53:28 UTC
Hi there, In case this hasn't been mentioned before, it would be great if the user could "move" a workspace "up" or "down" with respect to the others. One interface for this could be using "control+alt+shift up/down" while in overview mode. This is intuitive for those who move individual windows this way. When on a multi screen setup, doing left/right could switch that workspace with the "one" workspace seen on the right monitor. Maybe it makes sense to have these actions be draggable too. If this is something that you prefer to see hackable into a shell extension, and want to offer some GNOME love (mentorship), let me know and I'll try to see what I can do. Cheers, James
Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find. And thanks for your help offer too. There was a patch to implement workspace reordering, but it was never finished. You can continue from that. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 646409 ***
