Description Mantas Mikulėnas (grawity) 2013-03-01 16:04:51 UTC
When I press a "brightness up" or "brightness down" key, the LCD backlight is adjusted twice – once by the hardware, once by GNOME. This means that in GNOME, I only get five brightness levels instead of 10 elsewhere. (The adjustment by GNOME sometimes even lags a little, if the system load is high.)

Is there a way to avoid g-s-d adjusting the backlight when it's already done by hardware?

g-s-d 3.7.90

Why does the hardware send a key event when it's already changed the brightness?

Is this an ASUS machine? If so, it's bug 672380.
