Description Allan Day 2013-03-01 11:45:25 UTC
This applies to some of the dialogs in Region and Language as well as the language selection part of initial setup.

We've had some early reports that the ... used to label the "more" button in some of the lists isn't clear. There are a few options here:

1) Replace the text ... with a similar symbolic icon
2) Replace ... with a clearer string, like "More"

My preference right now is to go with option 2.

region: Use go-bottom-symbolic for the "More" list item

We've had some early reports that the ellipsis used to label the
"More" item in some of the lists isn't clear.

Allan, is go-bottom-symbolic ok for this?

I'm not convinced that symbol is much clearer.
Comment 4 Jasper St. Pierre (not reading bugmail) 2013-03-11 03:36:01 UTC
If anything, it's a bit more visible than three specs of dust on my monitor.
Comment 5 Bastien Nocera 2013-03-11 09:27:54 UTC
I don't like either of those. Is there not a massive "..." for the symbolic icon? That's a pattern commonly used in mobile applications.

Thanks Rui, I think that looks better. I would have used go-down-symbolic rather than go-bottom-symbolic, though.

We also have view-more-symbolic (which is three small vertical lines).

The other thing we could try is changing the background color of the row containing the icon...

Jakub updated the view-more-symbolic icon and suggested to use the
dim-label style. There's how it looks http://i.imgur.com/37MjVQe.png

Review of attachment 238705 [details] [review]:

Code is fine, whatever the designers are happy with.

Would need UI freeze break though.

Got UI freeze break approval:
