>Description:
a. some users can ssh to the computer w/o problem. 
when they try to login at the console directly, 
they get: "gnome-login-check process 23651
           has crashed due to fatal error 
           (segmentation fault)"
if you hit cancel, they can loging...

b. Other users are able to ssh to the computer, but when
they try to login at the console, they type their
username and password, but they can never login...
the login screen appears over, and over, and... 
it never gives an error message, but these user 
will never be able to login.

This problem was not present before.

>How-To-Repeat:
in case a:
1. type username
2. type password
3. error message appears

in case b:
1. type username
2. type password
3. nothing happens
4. login screen appears again
