Description William Jon McCann 2013-02-18 22:47:25 UTC
Here are some patches that basically do two things.

1. Create a Utilities directory to contain just the things that are core GNOME utilities. More or less equivalent to what is defined in the jhbuild moduleset.

2. Creates a Sundry directory to contain things that either aren't really apps or are scheduled for removal but that are hard to remove at the moment for various reasons. We just need a temporary way to segregate these items so they don't pollute the app view.

Add a new X-GNOME-Utilities directory

Rather than using a developer-defined category, this directory
contains an explicit whitelist of known-good GNOME tools. This
more or less follows the definition set in the GNOME jhbuild
moduleset.

Add Sundry category

This patch will never get approved upstream ...

Add .directory file for Sundry

Uhm, except for the first patch, the series was not actually meant to be committed literally. At the very least, the "Sundry" directory's name should be made translatable ...

Do you want to back it out then?

I was curious about this. It's such an esoteric word that we might want think of a better name.

Nah, Jon fixed at least the commit messages :)

I don't think that's a bad idea, but I'll leave that to Jon
