GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 694065
10-bit h264 (hi10p) video no longer plays
Last modified: 2013-02-19 00:12:30 UTC
Bug 665034 added support for 10-bit video. I had compiled all the latest gstreamer 0.11.xx and totem 3.5 packages on Fedora 17 and I was able to play 10-bit videos. After upgrading to Fedora 18 and all the official gstreamer 1.0 and totem 3.6 packages my 10-bit videos will not play. Totem gives me a message "GStreamer encountered a general stream error".
Does this happen on all files, if not, can you provide one? Which versions of gstreamer, gst-plugins-base and gst-libav do you have?
All 10-bit files. You can find an example in the bug I mentioned in my OP. $ rpm -qa | grep gstreamer1 gstreamer1-plugins-base-1.0.5-3.fc18.x86_64 gstreamer1-plugins-good-1.0.5-1.fc18.x86_64 gstreamer1-plugins-good-extras-1.0.5-1.fc18.x86_64 gstreamer1-plugins-bad-freeworld-1.0.2-2.fc18.x86_64 gstreamer1-libav-1.0.2-2.fc18.x86_64 gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free-1.0.5-1.fc18.x86_64 gstreamer1-plugins-ugly-1.0.2-2.fc18.x86_64 gstreamer1-1.0.5-1.fc18.x86_64
Still works for me, also with the file you attached :) Tested with the latest releases and git master. You might want to test after upgrading gst-libav to 1.0.5, and gst-plugins-bad too. If it still doesn't work then please provide a debug log with GST_DEBUG=6
Upgrading gst-libav to 1.0.5 was all that was needed. I'll inform rpmfusion. Thanks.
