Is this something you are running into with the latest release of pygobject or is it only just a problem with the master branch?

If the former, yes that is a problem since I think pygobject should probably be bumping version dependency of gi each release. If the latter, I'm not sure what we can do about that as generally pygobject master can have a lot of reliance on gi master generally speaking. Martin should have a better answer than me for how to proceed with this kind of problem.

Thanks!

With master.

IMHO, keeping things working with the latest stable releases of dependencies is a good idea. Not sure how realistic that is.

I agree, and until recently I generally tried to keep it working with g-i 1.34.x.
