This is just the same issue as bug 687143 and may apply for other types (I haven't checked exhaustively).

Is there any way we could get this included in the 0.8.x series?

This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.

Pushed to 0.8 and master. The release should be in a few days.
