GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 692769
"Oh no! Something has gone wrong." should offer to save work
Last modified: 2020-10-30 14:30:26 UTC
I don't know if this has been deleted so many time that there's an auto-delete on this summary. But frankly, this is the most useless window of all time. Would it be possible to add any other button or remove the fullscreen properties of this window when it appears so you can at least *save your work* before it logs you out? And not, don't give me any workaround even if there's any, because any regular user won't know they exists. Even if there's no debugging information, just like "... cannot display the web page." at least, if the user can save its work and close any window that require its attention, at least they won't want "to punch the first gnome developer <they> find" ( http://kukucov.blogspot.ca/2012/09/opensuse-122-broken-edition.html ). This is not a kernel panic, there is hope to recover from the remaining bits.
For future reference please provide version information.
This is happening since I started using gnome-shell 3.2, now at gnome-session 3.6.2.
I strongly go with the writers proposal! The way this screen is working right now is counter productive. Please change this. This screen is preventing me from saving my data before 'Log Out' of Gnome.
