Offcenter Settings window (GNOME Fallback)

gnome-control-center 3.7.4 on Ubuntu 13.04 Alpha

When gnome-control-center 3.7.4 is run in another desktop instead of GNOME Shell, the content is displayed off-center making Settings nearly impossible to use. See the attached screenshots.

The first screenshot is when run in GNOME Fallback 3.6.2 with Metacity.

The second is in Unity on 13.04. An additional problem is that Unity has its own menu bar which is supposed to include the new GNOME3 "app menu". Settings 3.7.4 seems to be the only GNOME 3 app where the app menu is being handled inside the window (ala gnome-panel) instead of in Unity's menu bar. Neither Nautilus 3.7.4 nor Epiphany 3.6.1 have this problem. Perhaps this is a clue to what isn't working.

I get similar problems when running from jhbuild so I don't think this is due to any of Ubuntu's patches.

Andre, why is this a blocker for GNOME 3.8? It doesn't happen in GNOME...

Reassigning to GTK+ as we're not doing anything fancy here.
Comment 3 Matthias Clasen 2013-01-26 20:06:52 UTC
clearly a blocker for GTK+ 3.8, anyway. Thankfully, it should be fixed in git
Comment 4 Jeremy Bicha 2013-01-27 04:47:11 UTC
Yes, I confirm it's fixed with a newer GTK than the last released snapshot. Thanks!
