Description Alexander van Loon 2013-01-25 17:45:01 UTC
=== address cards view versus list view ===

By default Evolution uses the address cards view for address books. With widescreen monitors the list view seems to be a lot more useful however. Wouldn't it be a better idea to make that the default instead?

=== list view doesn't have useful columns ===

As you can see in the attached screenshots, the list view contains some columns which are not useful. I don't think many people still use faxes these days, so it would be better to not show the two columns for home and business fax by default.

The list view also displays the "Full Name" column, instead of the address cards view which uses the "File As" line. Full Name obviously sorts on first name, which isn't a good idea. Sorting on last name is better, so please display the "File As" column instead.

List view for address books

== make view settings apply to all address books ==

I forgot to mention that it would be nice to have the view settings apply to all address books. I don't see why you would want different settings for every address book. Right now, every time I create a new address book I have to change it to list view and remove those fax columns again.

Will file separate bugs for all three issues, so this one is INVALID.
