Description Milan Bouchet-Valat 2013-01-18 21:01:31 UTC
I've noticed this at least twice, but I've no idea of how to reproduce it. Sometimes it happens that the workspaces "bar" on the right of the overview is not here. Nothing happens when I put the mouse on that area, not when I drag applications/windows. I can still switch to other workspaces, move windows to them using Ctrl+Alt+Maj+Arrows, but the bar remains hidden.

Nothing interesting in the logs, except maybe this:

Received signal:15->'Completed'firefox: Fatal IO error 2 (No such file or directory) on X server :0.
Window manager warning: Log level 16: gnome-shell: Fatal IO error 0 (Success) on X server :0.

Maybe this happened after creating memory pressure. The Shell does not appear to have restarted despite saying the error is "Fatal".

If you need debugging, please ask quickly as until I reboot I can use LookingGlass to check for components state when the bug is happening.

This is with gnome-shell 3.6.3 on Fedora 18.
