GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 691682
Menus not moved when screen rotation changes
Last modified: 2021-07-05 14:36:53 UTC
gnome-shell-3.7.3.1-1.fc19.x86_64 1. sleep 5; xrandr -o left 2. Pop down the calendar menu 3. Wait for xrandr to take effect 4. See the menu pointing in the wrong place
This is not really a rotation issue, it happens with resolution changes too.
The same can still be observed in GNOME 3.10.1.. with the increased popularity of 'tablet' like devices and 'swivel screen' devices, this becomes more visible as an issue.
Happens on Wayland too.
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
