Description Colin Walters 2013-01-09 18:59:25 UTC
See: https://access.redhat.com/knowledge/solutions/64189

"
Resolution:
* Increase vm.min_free_kbytes kernel tunable to a higher value than a single allocation request.
* And the customer has changed "zone_reclaim_mode" to 1 and so far these systems have been running without memory allocation failure.
"

So can we add echo 1 > /proc/sys/vm/zone_reclaim_mode to the puppet scripts? It just needs to be done once per boot.
Comment 1 Andrea Veri 2013-01-10 16:30:03 UTC
Added to rc.local through Puppet. As soon as RHEL 6.4 will be out we'll remove the following bits from Puppet and we should be good to go again.
