Description romu 2012-12-15 17:44:54 UTC
Tested with Ubuntu 12.10 64 Gnome Remix + Gnome 3 PPA.

Created a VM from the W8 DVD, the install starts, full screen. Once the first Windows screen is visible, there is no way to return to Gnome. Ctrl+W/Q, Esc, Backspace, etc, nothing works.

What is "the W8 DVD"? Does this stand for Microsoft Windows? Link welcome.
Comment 2 romu 2012-12-16 10:11:13 UTC
Sorry André, I should have been more accurate. Yes it is the Windows 8 Pro DVD.

Steps are :
1. Insert the DVD
2. Wait for the notification and click on "Launch with Boxes"
-> The the install starts, full screen, and I didn't find any way to return to Gnome at this moment.

Once the VM is installed, I see there is the top bar which appears when the mouse cursor reaches the screen top edge, but I didn't notice it at VM creation time.

In fullscreen mode, all keys belong to the guest. Perhaps the topbar could be somehow made more intuitive to find. Please do take a look at my video tutorial (apologies for the bad sound): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2iFhcu4Llqg

I think this has been fixed for a while now that we show the topbar in fullscreen until user moves mouse (i-e ensure user sees it).
