GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 690090
gnome-shell hangs
Last modified: 2012-12-13 23:05:54 UTC
Gnome-shell hangs (screen freezez, only restart helps). The stacktrace as captured in this state:
+ Trace 231284
Inferior 1 [process 2986] will be detached. Quit anyway? (y or n) Detaching from program: /usr/bin/gnome-shell, process 2986 gjs_dumpstack - empty xsession-errors relevant entries - none trigger - unknown but it happens rather often in 3.6.x
For me it happens mostly and ocnstantly when I switch desktops with keybindings.
My problem must be a different one, I got a backtrace that mentioned playing a sound via pulseaudio and it just hung itself there. When I disabled desktop sounds with gsettings the problem went away.
