Description Allison Karlitskaya (desrt) 2012-12-06 05:20:00 UTC
I was just testing out the new gnome-classic session and I hit a but that caused it to try to fallback to fallback mode... which quickly informed me that it wouldn't work because gnome-screensaver wasn't installed.

I was going to report that as a bug against gnome-shell-extensions -- why does it list an accel-check and a fallback when the whole point of the new classic mode is that we're getting rid of fallback?

Then I noticed that gnome-session has the same issue itself and it was probably just copied from there...

Nuking this entirely would also be a good way of dealing with bug 686806...

See bug 687586 for nuking musings
Comment 2 Bastien Nocera 2013-01-13 18:54:32 UTC
The accel-check is still needed, as we use it to set the maximum size of the textures for the GPU.
Removing the fallback session is worked on in bug 687586.
