GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 689187
Plug-in crashed: "File-jpeg.exe"
Last modified: 2012-11-29 15:31:24 UTC
when I try to open a picture with jpeg format, an error message appears and I can not open the file. The message that appears is as follows: "GIM MESSAGE Plug-in crashed:"file-jpeg.exe" (C:\programs\gimp2\lib\GIMP\2.0\plug-ins\file-jpeg.exe) The dying PLUG-IN may have messed up Gimp's internal state. You may want to save your images and restart Gimp to be on the safe side. GIM MESSAGE Opening C:\file location... failed Procedure "file-jpeg-load" returned no return values" This problem only happens with some jpeg files, not all and only started happening now, because I have many other open jpeg files previously. If it is necessary any more information please say. I hope you can help me. With my best regards Miguel
Thank you, Miguel, for reporting this. Crashes with some JPEGs are a known problem. Often the reason are some wrong EXIF data or the image size. Please check the list [1] which of those bugs fits to yours and if you find a duplicate, mark this bug as a duplicate of your finding. If you find no duplicate, please provide more information, for instance the EXIF metadata. The tool JHead [2] will then help you with this. It is the same that is described in comment 4, ie, if I put the language in English (en-us) can open the files, if I put in Portugês (pt) can not open the files. I enclose a file. thank you *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 677066 ***
