suggested improvements to Investment documentation

In the gnucash-guide examples of transactions for 'Sale of stock with profit' and 'Sale of stock with loss':
1)In the transaction screen dumps, you cannot see the full account names as they are too long and you cannot see the RHS of them, so you cannot tell which account is which.

2) The example of 'Sale of stock with loss' uses the case where the sell price ($50) is exactly half the buy price ($100) which means there are several transactions for $5000. It would be much easier to understand if the sell price was not exactly half.

I have revised these sections and attached.
If you need them in a different format, please let me know and I'll do what I can.

Many Thanks.

Thank you very much for your work! Docx is not the best way to attach a file in bugzilla but I can live with it. I will submit the modification to GnuCash documentation as soon as possible.

Hi,

I realise now (please correct me if I'm wrong?) that I shouldn't have the investment bank account under Assets:Investments but it should be under Assets:Current Assets. I was trying to use the parent of the Stock account as the Investment Bank account, but when you do this, you don't get a Balance column in the register (because there is a STOCK in the subaccounts I think) so it is extremely difficult to reconcile with the statement.

I have corrected my documentation and will attach (docx I'm afraid - what would you prefer?).
Sorry for the confusion.

This bug is finally resolved in rev 23591 and 23592! while I was at it, I updated all the "selling shares" section. I decided to expand the example of IBM shares for sell with loss instead of creating a newer case.

Thanks for discovering the error and for suggesting a corrected text.

Reassign version to 2.4.x so that individual 2.4 versions can be retired.
