GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 688845
Random crashes since 2.6.0
Last modified: 2013-04-14 18:41:53 UTC
Created attachment 229603 [details] Log when it crashes at launch, when scaning the library Since the upgrade to banshee 2.6, it often randomly crashes. Banshee crashes sometimes few seconds after starting, it does more often when it passes to the next song or sometimes it also crashes in a song or even if I do nothing. Here is a link to a bug report on archlinux.org where you can find other log files than mine : https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/32390
Created attachment 229604 [details] Another log file after banshee crashed at start
Created attachment 229605 [details] Log file after banshee had crashed in passing to the next song PS : I am running on Arch Linux with gnome-shell 3.6.2, everything is up-to-date.
I did not test, but few users tested this patch which seems actually fix crashes : https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~timo-jyrinki/gconf/ubuntu.support-s-to-as-migrations/view/head:/debian/patches/call-dbus_g_thread_init.patch Users feedback are here : https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/32390
Thanks for the info Anthony. That patch is against GConf. Do you know the bug number of the upstream bug of GConf?
Sorry I don't know :( If it could help this patch was submited by janitor, the last post on this bug report : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/banshee/+bug/1048341 So I think a patch was made for Ubuntu, but not for ArchLinux ...
Can you ask in LaunchPad and report here please?
I will ask it on launchpad and on archlinux.org tomorrow, that is not me who have found the patch but an other archlinux user. I am not sure the dev will answer, this bug report has been marked solved 2 months ago, but I will try.
I think, it's gnome-bugs #683830(In reply to comment #4) > Thanks for the info Anthony. > > That patch is against GConf. Do you know the bug number of the upstream bug of > GConf? I think, it's gnome-bugs #683830
Ok, this may be a duplicate of bug 683830 or bug 688031.
A work-around has been committed in Banshee, as part of bug #692374, so I'm marking this one as a duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 692374 ***
