Demonstration

How to reproduce:
1. In GIMP 2.8.2 call Tools/GEGL operations.../rotate.
2. Check the 'Preview' checkbox to enable previews.
3. Increase the degrees value with the spinbuttons.

Expected result:
The image or the selected part of the image is rotated with no artifacts.

Actual result:
The image or the selected part of the image is rotated. The rendered result contains artifacts, see attachment.

I tested on Linux, Windows and Mac OS X. It's always reproducible.

The code involved in rotation has recently changed, does this artifact also occur with a fully up to date version of GEGL built from git master?

Demonstration (2)

I just tried to reproduce on Win7 with the latest master build from 20.11.2012, but it doesn't contain the Rotate operation in GEGL operations anymore.
Then I tested with the stable 2.8.2 nightly build from 20.11.2012, but it has become worse, see attachment. The artifacts remain after confirming the dialog.
Comment 3 Nicolas Robidoux 2013-04-20 23:51:33 UTC
I have not seen artifacts in recent versions of the tools.
