Description fdr 2002-01-16 17:21:06 UTC
Package: panel
Version: 1.4.0.4
Severity:

>Synopsis: Seems to happen on startup
>Class: sw-bug
System: Red Hat 7.2

>Description:
response for this user 'fdr' seems to be really slow and KDE seems to be fisted. So we switch to Gnome on startup in an effort to see what is sucking up cycles and we get a problem with 'SV' spawnning to fast and will be shut down. reason can't find svscanboot. Link is in /usr/local/bin but it points to /command/svscanboot. It isn't found on system and there is no man entry for these features. Then on graphic bootup we get a crash with panel for no reported reason....beats me.

Please try the newly released gnome-core-1.4.0.5. I made a package you
can try if you are using a Red Hat Linux system. Find it at
http://www.gnome.org/~kmaraas/gnome-core-1.4.0.5-1.i386.rpm

There's also a new gnome-libs out which is needed for this. Package in
the same above dir...
