Description bwatkins 2012-11-17 20:43:36 UTC
I have intel ivybridge HD4000 graphics, using ubuntu 12.10 and gnome 3.6. If I open a fullscreen video (in vlc for example), I get horizontal tearing near the top of the video (its always tears only at the top). It doesn't matter what video output I use (Opengl, X11, Xvideo etc...)

I don't have this issue at all when I'm not using mutter/gnome-shell (for example when using unity/compiz its totally fine).

The only way I've been able to work around it in mutter/gnome-shell is to add "CLUTTER_PAINT=disable-clipped-redraws:disable-culling" to my /etc/environment
