GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 688237
3.6.3 shows thumbnail border on PNG desktop icons
Last modified: 2012-11-14 19:53:50 UTC
Using 3.6.3 on Arch Linux and .desktop launchers in ~/Desktop with a PNG icon specified show the thumbnail border around them. http://i.imgur.com/pKyaF.png Downgraded to 3.6.2, and it looks as expected again.
The border is supposed to be used for thumbnails on the desktop (this was broken in 3.6.2 and was fixed in 3.6.3). However, we should probably avoid using it for desktop files. I pushed a patch that does so to git now.
Created attachment 229005 [details] Borders appear on custom icons
[sorry for the double post -- adding the attachment lost my initial text] I see this is marked as fixed, but what about soft links? I am running 3.6.3 and I get a border around soft links *with custom icons* too... Is this intended behaviour, or should I open another bug? Don't mean to be pretentious, but it really looks ugly (especially if the affected icons are resized to be bigger). Cheers, Stew
