GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 688006
empathy no longer allows a person to block spammers
Last modified: 2013-01-04 13:43:46 UTC
In empathy (Empathy 3.6.0.3) on Ubuntu 12.10 using gnome 3.6 I can no longer block spammers from MSN. I can decline their invite but I have no way to actually select to block them. Can we not add this option back in again since it was working great in Ubuntu 12.04? See report on ubuntu - https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/empathy/+bug/1074498
That's because we now use MSN's XMPP server instead of the old MSNP protocol. There are 2 issues here: - MSN's XMPP server doesn't implement http://xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0191.html - telepathy-gabble doesn't support this XEP either: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=36804
