GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 687969
Application names are truncated and never shown completely
Last modified: 2018-05-31 16:58:16 UTC
Created attachment 228533 [details] 1.png As you can see in attached screenshot, there is no way to read full application name when it's a bit long, even keeping the mouse over the icon doesn't show the complete name

Created attachment 245225 [details] No distinction between similar application icons. I too feel that this needs to be addressed, as expressed in bug #700940. It leaves the user without a complete view of the application name, causing issues with similar names. See attachment for an illustration. You wouldn't know which application to click if you don't know its complete name. From bug #700940: ------------------------------------ It would be nice to display a tool-tip with the complete name when you hover over those items. An alternative would be to extent the name line to a multi-line text when an icon is either selected with the keyboard or when hovering over the icon with the mouse. ------------------------------------ P.s. I believe this issue should be reassigned to the "Overview" component.
