Description Peter Mráz 2012-10-23 09:21:52 UTC
#: ../src/orca/orca-setup.ui.h:1
msgid "Default"

This string is apper in various popup list, but in slovak translation can have three different genders

štandardný (type)
štandardné (preferences)
štandardná (key binding)

default can also can be translated as predvolený, predvolené, predvolená
so please separate string and type context for translators

same problem here

#. Translators: This refers to the amount of information
#. Orca provides about a particular object that receives
#. focus.

I can turn that into a contextual string, but it is the same string used in the same fashion all three times refering to the amount of information presented to the user in speech and/or braille.

Did you want to have two separate strings, one for "brief" information on the speech page and one for "brief" information on the braille page? Or do you want a modified translator note?
Comment 3 Peter Mráz 2012-10-23 14:34:43 UTC
In one case is it verbosity, if other case is verbosity too, can be together. add to context that all strings is for verbosity

Yeah, it's all the same: Two radio buttons (one for speech verbosity, one for braille verbosity) and one programmatic check to see which radio button is selected for speech.

Sorry to be dense, but "verbosity" is "the amount of information Orca provides about a particular object"

So there is already a translator note (you quoted it). And it already defines what it is. So are you asking for this note:

> #. Translators: This refers to the amount of information
> #. Orca provides about a particular object that receives
> #. focus.
> #.

To include the word "verbosity"? Or are you asking for this to become a new string so that you wind up with:

#. Translators: This refers to the amount of information Orca
#. provides in speech and/or braille about a particular object
#. that receives focus.
#.
#: ../src/orca/orca_gui_prefs.py:2659 ../src/orca/orca_gui_prefs.py:2747
#: ../src/orca/orca-setup.ui.h:49
msgctxt "Verbosity"
msgid "Brie_f"
msgstr ""

?
Comment 5 Joanmarie Diggs (IRC: joanie) 2013-01-09 13:59:46 UTC
Given the lack of response and the fact that none of the other translators have indicated this is an issue, I'm going to close this out.

BUT: I seriously do want to be sure you and all the other translators are able to do their very-much-appreciated work. So if you do have an answer to my question in Comment 4 and there is a change I need to make, please reopen.

Sorry and thank you.
