GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 686624
The 2010-2011 annual report is missing
Last modified: 2013-03-05 14:55:08 UTC
http://www.gnome.org/foundation/reports/ lacks a link to the 2010-2011 annual report.
We need to do some edits to the pdf's before we can publish the web version.
There, now all the Friends of GNOME donors are filled in. Check if this looks good enough to publish. https://dl.dropbox.com/u/184285/annual-report-web.pdf
Looks good to me.
Nice! Good work! Bonus points, if we can make it GNOME.Asia Summit, not "GNOME.Asia", when referred to the annual Event to not confuse that with the Asian GNOME communities. I would right align the numbers in the Attendees column on page 10. And probably reformat the dates there. But I don't know if get's more readable. I would experiment with, i.e. 2012-10-09 - 2012-10-13, but that's probably too long. But an indication to the year of the event would be nice. Maybe a sub table with a "2010" headline or so. But it's fine enough the way it is. So if that's too much work, then I wouldn't work it on. On page 12 there is "The hackfest in 2010-2011", I would probably make it "The hackfests in 2010 and 2011 ...". Page 14 has "GNOME Outreach Program, May - August 2011". If it fits, I'd make it "GNOME Outreach Program for Women, May - August 2011" to keep the "brand" of GOPW. Btw, I can't select text in Evince.. O_o very annoying. Hm. No. I can, but it is very slow. *wondering* "Nine interns from the first two rounds attended the Desktop Summit in Berlin, Germany in August some doing lightning talks during the GNOME & KDE Interns Showcase, and attending the GNOME Women's Dinner there (which grew to 23 attendees!)." that's a bit odd to read, I find. Maybe: "Nine interns from the first two rounds attended the Desktop Summit in Berlin, Germany in August. Some of them did a lightning talk during the GNOME & KDE Interns Showcase, and attended the GNOME Women's Dinner (which grew to 23 attendees!)." Page 18: "2010 was the first year in which women participated through GNOME in Google Summer of Code, accepting two women that year." Hm. I also find that hard to read. Maybe: "2010 was the first year for women to participate to GNOME through Google's Summer of Code. Two women were accepted that year.". Typo on Page 20: Beijin Page 21: I would right align the numbers. And put USD somewhere. Double check whether it's "Incomes" or "Income". I would try to align the "Total" row in each table to be on the same horizontal level. Page 22: I don't how we feel about it, but we may change "The Advisory Board consists of representatives from the following GNOME Foundation member corporations and projects:" to reflect that the list represents the Adboard in 2010/2011.
I miss the license information of the pictures
(In reply to comment #4) Note that I set a deadline on Today for this. Perfect is the enemy of good and I feel ashamed that it took us this long to get this out, so lets put quality as a goal for next report and kick this out of the door. Some of the issues below are fixed, some are not. > Nice! Good work! I hate this report with a passion now. :) > > Bonus points, if we can make it GNOME.Asia Summit, not "GNOME.Asia", when > referred to the annual Event to not confuse that with the Asian GNOME > communities. Latest version, with the photo credits Juanjo provided: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/184285/annual-report-web.pdf
The document has been put online and linked to from http://www.gnome.org/foundation/reports/ so this seems fixed.
