There is a huge annoying Gimp logo at the top of the toolbox window that occupies screen space and serves no purpose whatsoever. There is absolutely no justification for it to exist. It's just there for no reason. Probably a remainder of the long-gone toolbox menu. The menu is gone, but the space is not freed.

It's going to stay, you can disable it in gimprc tho:
