GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 686426
Forgets my password
Last modified: 2013-03-05 13:12:45 UTC
Defeating the point slightly, I need to input my password again to log in again after my ticket has expired/my machine slept for the night. The password prompt should at the very least be pre-filled. Even better would be for the gnome-shell popup to tell me to "try again" or something akin to that (as it does for Google or Facebook accounts), instead of having me open system settings.
This looks very similar to bug 687962 , the patches there might help.
Ever since bug 687962 got fixed my Kerberos tickets get renewed automatically as long as I chosen to remember my password in the system modal dialog. I must admit that I might not have had a session running long enough for the ticket to expire, but they are definitely getting renewed when I log in. Bastien?
Using gnome-online-accounts-3.6.2-2.fc18.x86_64 and: $ klist klist: No credentials cache found (ticket cache DIR::/run/user/500/krb5cc_f4b08f7e4734ae33cea3e59e511c8a41/tkt) I suspend my desktop machine regularly, probably restart it once a week, at most. On log in, it's not connected to the network where the KDC lives. Maybe GOA should monitor the network and renew the ticket it as needed when the KDC is visible again. See also bug 694181.
(In reply to comment #3) > Maybe GOA should monitor the network and renew the ticket it as needed when the > KDC is visible again. See also bug 694181. Yes, it should. This is the same as bug 693578 , which is specifically about this and more narrowly titled. So I will mark this one as a dupe even though this one is older. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 693578 ***
