Description Timothy Arceri 2012-10-18 06:56:09 UTC
Problem:
Long network names goes off the edge of the screen

How to Reproduce:
1. Create or Rename a wired network to have an extra long name.
2. Remove lan cable.
3. Open the network manager applet
4. Plug in lan cable while applet is open.

You should now see that the name continues of the side of the screen.

What should happen:
The applet should be resized to fit the text.

Note:
The applet is resized if you close it and open it again. Just not if you have it open when the network it connected.

The gnome-shell network indicator is part of gnome-shell not nm-applet.

But assigning to "general" rather than "network-indicator" anyway since it seems like it should probably be fixed at the PopupMenu level.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
