bugzilla.freedesktop.org has a duplicate finder when you enter a summary of a bug. This helps to lower the amount of duplicates being filed. Would be nice to have I think.

This is a feature in the new bugzilla from 4.0+ I think (fdo runs v4.2.3).
GNOME bugzilla currently runs 3.4

Confirming the need. We at the GIMP project are chronically understaffed and we often get duplicates, for instance on metadata preservation. It would be a big help if duplicates were filtered out from the beginning, so we could bring in more powers to the Windows development.

GNOME Bugzilla has been upgraded to 4.4 and the fix for this bug report is available / deployed now. Closing as RESOLVED FIXED.
