GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 686279
Copy & Paste from other applications broken
Last modified: 2012-11-30 23:31:34 UTC
This is what happens: * I copy an image from another application (say Firefox) * I go to Gimp and use " Create from Clipboard " and it works * I now select something in that image * Copy that selection * Use " Create from Clipboard " and it works * Finally go to Firefox and copy another image * Go back to Gimp * Use " Create from Clipboard " and it does not work. In other words, it seems that Gimp's clipboard overrides any content in the clipboard from other applications, which is not ok.
Not the slightest clue about OSX here, but bug 626499 is about clipboard support on that platform - related?
I think so, will need to verify that on the Mac though.
Unable to reproduce under Linux/x64. Attempted in both single-window mode and in traditional window mode. For the 3rd part of the sequence, attempted File->Create from both the original image and from the copied image's File menu. Second application was also Firefox.
I've tested this on OS X 10.8 an GIMP 2.8.2 and I can confirm this bug. In the 3rd step, copying the image in Firefox works perfectly (verified by pasting it into Pages) but GIMP can't get it with 'create from clipboard'.
And could it be a duplicate of the bug mentioned in comment #1?
It is indeed the very same bug, and I think I just made the right patch for it. Simone, can you perhaps test the patch in the other bug? *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 626499 ***
