Description Mitch Davis 2012-10-16 13:06:40 UTC
Hello there. I have a nice ARM-based Sheevaplug, made by Globalscale Technologies. There's a slave USB port on the side for access to the Linux console. However when I plug the Sheevaplug into a computer (in my case, running Fedora 17), modem-manager starts talking with it, in the hopes it turns out to be a modem.

Since the Sheevaplug is not a modem, modem-manager shouldn't be talking to it. This can be fixed by adding these lines:

# GlobalScaleTechnologies SheevaPlug
ATTRS{idVendor}=="9e88", ATTRS{idProduct}=="9e8f", ENV{ID_MM_DEVICE_IGNORE}="1"

Right near the end of this file:

http://cgit.freedesktop.org/ModemManager/ModemManager/tree/src/77-mm-usb-device-blacklist.rules

Thanks for all your hard work on NM!
